About the Instructor

Francisco Morales-Bermudez

Francisco Morales-Bermudez, is a healing artist from Lima, Peru. Since 2006, he has led certification programs; workshops; retreats and festivals internationally including South America; USA; Asia; Africa; Europe and the South Pacific. Francisco teaches a range of practices, including Thai massage, yoga, martial arts and anatomy and physiology. His exploration of these practices and his compassionate disposition have enabled Francisco to guide numerous students towards optimal health.

Francisco continues to organize transformational wellness journeys in Peru; Kenya; and Mexico. A central focus of these journeys is to facilitate personal transformation amongst participants within indigenous communities in majestic natural environments. In 2000 Francisco began his studies with master Thai Bodywork teacher, Kam Thye Chow. Upon Kam Thye Chow’s passing, Francisco was driven to carry on his tradition and established the Synergy Thai Bodywork Certification in 2018. Francisco was first exposed to yoga through his mother who started the practice on an ashram as a way to treat her anxiety. The deep compassion, care and conscience of the yogis on the ashram left a deep impression on Francisco opening the door to his personal practice. Over the years, Francisco has studied with numerous renowned yoga instructors, the most influential being Sri Dharma Mittra. Dharma’s devotional disposition; jovial nature; and personal practice has deeply influenced Francisco’s pedagogy. Francisco received a wrestling scholarship and is also a practitioner of the Afro-Brazilian martial art, Capoeira Angola, under the tutelage of Mestre Cobra Mansa. Francisco and his colleague, Salim Rollins consult with Yoga Alliance. The consultancy focuses on fostering equity within the yoga community; offering professional development training for emerging yoga businesses; and creating a platform for yoga instructors to share their insight into how yoga is developing internationally. In addition to his work in the wellness community, Francisco has worked in the non-profit sector and served as a lobbyist to advocate for Native American and African American rites and history.
